Overarching principles and salient findings for inclusion in guidelines for power mobility use within residential care facilities

Although medical scooters has many potential benefits for users, power mobility incidents and accidents are a serious concern. To date, little research has ehandicap scooters safety, and no gold standard exists to determine whether the user is a safe driver. As a possible alternative to a facility unilaterally imposing regulations on power mobility users, we conducted a research project in which power mobility users and other stakeholders used the Delphi method to develop guidelines for power mobility use within a residential facility setting. This article presents the overarching principles for power mobility use and noteworthy items from the safety guidelines that participants developed. These findings highlight the safety issues that are encountered in residential care settings and suggest some strategies to deal with them.

Honesty

Filed under: Money, other — Admin @ 12:16 pm

Honesty

The first thing to remember is to be a 100% honest. In this case, fill out the building business credit card application with true information regarding your financial condition, your marital status and even something as simple as your true address. Banks check all of this information and will be suspicious if they find that something is not right

The second tip is to not forget anything. For example, if you are buying or leasing a car, mention it in the application. If you are making your monthly payments in a timely manner, then this is something to your advantage as it shows the bank that you are someone who can be trusted. The same thing applies if you have a mortgage for your home.

Check and double-check all the spellings and numbers you enter in your business line of credit card application. Although it may not be considered as fraudulent if you make a mistake, it can significantly delay the processing time if, for instance, your date of birth and social security number are not correct.

Cover Letter Etiquette Raises the Job Search Bar

Cover Letter Etiquette Raises the Job Search Bar

Manners matterwhether at the dinner table, during a round of golf, or while watching a movie in a public theater. cover letter etiquette is also important and you can show a hiring manager that you know what that is by demonstrating it in your cover letter for a new job. Be friendly. Be concise. Focus on what the employer is looking for. Avoid overusing the pronoun “I.” Appropriate humor can be a plus. But don’t tell a corny joke or pass on an ‘email forward.’ Keep cover letter etiquette in mind and you will come across as someone the employer will want to interviewand hire.

Vibration exposure of individuals using wheelchairs over sidewalk surfaces.

Filed under: News, other — Admin @ 10:42 pm

Vibration exposure of individuals using wheelchairs over sidewalk surfaces.

According to the International Standards Organization 2631-1 standard on human vibration, individuals in a seated position are at risk of injury due to whole-body vibrations when exposed for long periods of time. Wheelchair users fit this description perfectly; however, little research has been conducted to evaluate the amount of vibration transmitted to a medicare power wheelchairs user. The vibration exposure produced by traversing nine surfaces was evaluated by having 10 individuals without disabilities propel over them in both a manual wheelchair at 1 m/s and a power wheelchairs at 1 and 2 m/s. Root-mean squared (RMS) vertical vibration was examined to determine if differences existed between surfaces. At 1 m/s for both the manual and the powered wheelchair the 8-mm bevel interlocking concrete surface produced significantly higher RMS vertical vibration than the other surfaces. At 2 m/s in the powered wheelchair, the poured concrete surface (control) produced the significantly highest RMS vertical vibration. Based on the manual and power wheelchair results of this study, use of selected ICPI pavers would be acceptable for any route traveled by individuals using wheelchair. Furthermore, a 90 degrees herringbone pattern is preferred over the 45 degrees pattern, and it is recommended that for safety reasons regarding vibration exposure a bevel of less than 6 mm should be used.

What is not an Emergency?

What is not an Emergency?

Books for school may be an emergency situation in some cases, but magazine subscriptions, adult chat lines, 1-900 horoscope phone numbers, and HBO on Demand are not. Theater or concert tickets are not emergencies, cell phone bills are not emergencies, except in some situations. Paying for a cell phone may be acceptable; but putting all your friends expenses on your building business credit card because they promised to pay is absolutely not.

Why have a business line of credit Card at all?
